Don Zabor Ponche Tradicional is a ready-to-simmer Mexican fruit punch mix made for the classic ponche navideño served during posadas and holiday gatherings. This 150 g bag is packed with dried fruits and warm spice for a sweet-tart, cinnamon-scented pot of comfort, including prune, cane sugar, raisins, apple, pineapple, tejocote (Mexican hawthorn), guava, tamarind, jamaica (hibiscus), and cinnamon.
To prepare, simmer the mix in hot water for about 10 to 15 minutes until the fruits plump up, then sweeten to taste (piloncillo or sugar both work) and serve hot with some fruit in each mug. One pack can make a generous batch, around 4 liters depending on how strong you like it.
